Waisze Wong

I'm Waisze Wong and I'm a senior in New Explorations in Science Technology and Math High School (NEST+m). I worked with Cyndel Vollmer and Patty Sheehan in the pathology department on how ubiquitination of protein affect synapses. We've discovered that the addition ubiquitin increases synapse formation through immunostaining and imaging fixed neurons. This internship allowed me to explore my interest in science and has given me a deeper understanding on higher-level research. Through this experience, I hope to be more involved in research and the STEM field in my college years.
