Hello! My name is Yanella Lopez and I am currently a student at All City Leadership Secondary School in Brooklyn. As a middle school student I decided I was pretty great at the sciences and thus wanted to pursue them. Being in SMRI has opened multiple doors in getting closer to my goal of a career in the STEM fields. I am now able to connect with graduate students from Columbia University and receive experience in a lab, an opportunity not many high school students can say they have. I am looking forward to learning many new things from being in SMRI!
